TASTY RECIPES & HINTSThis section could use some input from you folks.
We want to make available recipes that are both healthy (nothing refined or artificial, etc.) and
really yummy, along with hints to make things easier, faster, or better. Also tips on how to shop
for the best tasting foods, how to store, prepare, and serve them. The body is much happier & healthier when you only feed it pure natural foods. Such foods also happen to taste better. Try to avoid refined anything, such as sugar, hydrogenized or partly-hydrogenized fats
(margarine, vegetable shortnings), artificial anything (coffee creamers, most brands of
ice cream, diet sodas, etc.), most preservatives, & all flours except whole grain flour. Also avoid any overly processed foods such as fake crab legs, etc. If you can't find natural foods in your area, send for a catalog (subject: "Natural Food Catalog"). If you have a recipe or hint that you'd be willing to pass along, or an idea as to how it is best to do this section, we are willing to listen. Hint: Measure oil or melted butter first, then use same cup to measure honey or syrup...it will slide right out. Hint: Cook extra when you have time, then freeze in portion size containers to heat in microwave when time is short. Scrub 1 medium irish potato for each person, slice rather thin into pot. Add about 1 cup of water, cover, and put on high heat, turn to low as soon as it comes to a boil. Cut up 1 hot dog (low fat & natural...not the kind full of chemicals) per person & add to pot. Wash & dice 1/2 stalk celery and 1/2 small onion per person. Check potatoes often...should be done in 10 to 20 minutes. Stir in 1 Tablespoon mayonaise (Duke's or Hain's) per person. Stir in celery & onion. Salt to taste (salt is optional...only use sea salt). Serve with a sprig of fresh parsley on top, and raw baby carrots on the side. |
